Prof. Avv. Francesco Di Ciommo
Il Prof. Francesco Di Ciommo, nato nel 1975, è avvocato iscritto all’Albo dal 2001 ed è abilitato come cassazionista dal 2005.
Laureato presso la “Luiss Guido Carli” di Roma, è Professore Ordinario di “Diritto Privato” (SSD 12/01) nello stesso Ateneo (http://docenti.luiss.it/diciommo/), dopo essere stato prima Ricercatore e poi Professore Associato nell’Università di Roma “Tor Vergata”, inoltre dal 2021 Prorettore dell’Università “Luiss Guido Carli”. In precedenza ha conseguito il Dottorato (LLM) in Diritto civile presso la “S.S.S.U.P. Sant’Anna” di Pisa ed è stato ospite alla George Washington Univ. (Washington D.C., USA) e alla Harvard Univ. (Cambridge, Mass., USA).
Nel 2014 ha conseguito l’abilitazione a Professore di I fascia anche nel settore scien-tifico-disc. 12/E3 “Diritto dell’economia e dei mercati finanziari ed agroalimentari”.
È autore di monografie, manuali universitari, codici commentati, saggi e note a sentenza pubblicati sulle più importanti riviste giuridiche italiane o in prestigiosi volumi (cfr. l’area “Pubblicazioni” di questo sito).
Ha co-fondato nel 2005 il centro di ricerca “LE LAB” – Law & Economics LAB – della Luiss (http://www.law-economics.net/). Sempre in Luiss dirige attualmente il “Master in Consulente legale di impresa” (http://businessschool.luiss.it/consulente-legale-impresa/) e l’ “Executive programme in Credit Management” (http://businessschool. luiss.it/program-credit-management/) oltre ad insegnare “Diritto societario“ presso la Business School.
Sul versante professionale il Prof. Di Ciommo vanta una vasta esperienza, sia in ambito contenzioso che consulenziale, in particolare nel diritto bancario e finanziario, nel diritto delle crisi di impresa (ristrutturazioni, concordati e fallimenti), nel diritto ammi-nistrativo, nel diritto dei contratti e nel diritto societario. Opera anche nel settore dei danni da attività sanitaria e, più in generale, della responsabilità civile.
Il Prof. Di Ciommo opera, altresì, come componente di Collegi Sindacali e Consigli di Amministrazione di primarie società, oltre che come arbitro, curatore fallimentare, commissario giudiziale, membro di Organismi di Vigilanza ex d.lgs. 231/2001, nonché commissario e liquidatore straordinario. Dal 2012 al 2016 è stato consigliere di amministrazione indipendente di due primarie banche italiane. Sino al mese di settembre del 2022 è stato consigliere di amministrazione della compagnia assicurativa SaceBt s.p.a. (www.sacebt.it), del Gruppo SACE.
Dal 2020 al 2023 è stato Presidente del Consiglio di Amministrazione del fondo di previdenza complementare “Previndai” (www.previndai.it), che conta 85.000 dirigenti industriali iscritti e oltre 14 miliardi di euro di patrimonio, nonché Presidente del Consiglio di Amministrazione di Banca Widiba S.p.A., del Gruppo Monte dei Paschi di Siena (www.widiba.it).
Attualmente è Consigliere di amministrazione di Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
In DC&P coordina l’attività delle diverse macro-aree e lavora a stretto contatto con i singoli professionisti a seconda delle necessità.
Prof. Francesco Di Ciommo, born in 1975, is registred lawyer since 2001 and exercises before the Supreme Court since 2005.
Graduated from the University “Luiss Guido Carli” of Rome, he is currently Full Professor of “Private Law” in the same University (http:// docenti.luiss.it/diciommo/), after being the first Researcher and then Associated Professor at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and also from 2021 Vice-Rector of the “Luiss Guido Carli” University.
Previously he obtained a doctorate (LLM) in Civil Law at the “SSSUP Sant’Anna” of Pisa and was, as research, guest at the George Washington University (Washington, DC, USA) and at the Harvard Law School (Cambridge, Mass., USA).
In 2014 he completed the qualification in the first rank of professor alsoin the scientific sector “Economic law and financial markets and agri-food“.
He is author of monographs, university manuals, commented codes and many works published in the most important Italian law journals or in prestigious anthologies (see. the “Publications” section of this site ).
He co-founded in 2005 the research center “Law & Economics LAB” of the Luiss (http://www.law-economics.net/). Always at Luis currently he is scientific Director of the Master in “Enterprise Legal Advisor” (http://businessschool.luiss.it/consulente-legale-impresa/) and of the “Executive programme in Credit Management” (https://businessschool.luiss.it/program-credit-management/) as well as teaches ” Corporate Law ” at the Business School .
On the professional side, Prof. Di Ciommo has extensive experience, in both litigation and consultancy, particularly in the banking and finance law, in the law of company crisis (restructuring, agreed and failures), in administrative law, in contract law and in company law. He works assiduously also in the sector of medical malpractice and, more generally, in the field of civil liability caused by any kind of tort.
He works, also, as member of boards of statutory auditors and boards of directors of leading companies, as well as member of arbitration boards, member of supervisory bodies pursuant to legislative decree n° 231/2001, and referee or special commissioner appointed by the courts and by the administrative authorities. From 2012 to 2016 he was indipendent member of the bord of directors of two leading italian banks.
He was member of the board of insurance company SaceBt s.p.a. (www.sacebt.it), of the Group SACE.
From 2020 to 2023 he was President of “Previndai (www.previndai.it), pension fund which has 85,000 registered industrial executi-ves and manages over 14billion euros of assets, and Chairman of the Banca Widiba S.p.A., Group Monte dei Paschi di Siena (www.widiba.it).
He is currently a board member of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti.
